LOCATION: Hidden Valley Inn is located high in the Mountain Pine Ridge in the Cayo District of Belize, Central America. This remote lodge, situated amidst 7200 acres of private reserve,offers guests both pine forest and tropical jungle where the flora and fauna are like few places on earth. At an altitude of over 2000 feet, the climate of the Mountain Pine Ridge is comfortable year round with an average annual temperature of 73°F

The Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve is the largest and oldest of Belizean parklands, established in 1944. The red earth and sandy terrain, Caribbean pines, granite outcroppings, tumbling waterfalls, huge limestone caves, and rolling open savanna grasslands, bordered by lush tropical rainforest, make the Reserve unique in Central America. The pine is in the process of regeneration after the explosion of the bark beetle population. Our location provides easy access to the many scenic attractions of the area.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Hidden Valley Inn is one of the few small luxury hotels in Belize situated within a private nature reserve. The accommodations are comprised of only 12 cottages, of which 10 are luxury suites and 2 are deluxe suites. All of these rooms surround a central lodge housing a bar, restaurant, small library and several lounges. The 2 Deluxe Suites boast their own outside waterfall and rock themed showers, claw foot baths. Hidden Valley Inn’s slate has been used throughout the bathrooms and showers adding a natural element to these luxurious bathrooms. Our Deluxe Suites each have large matrimonial hammocks, comfortable patio furniture, large private screened in patio’s as well as their own tea and coffee making facilities. These Deluxe Suites can be opened up, making it ideal for a group of friends or a small family travelling together. Hidden Valley Inn is also one of the only resorts whose facilities, trails and jungle waterfalls are reserved for exclusive use by resident guests guaranteeing privacy and some of the most personalized service in Belize.

FACILITIES
Cottages

The cozy cottages with ceiling fans and screened windows all feature en suite bathrooms providing plentiful hot water. Brick fireplaces, handcrafted mahogany furnishings and elegant décor in earth tones reflect the warm intimacy of the Inn.

The Main House forms the “heart” of the Inn. It has been converted from the original homestead and reflects the graciousness of a high-country lodge with its vaulted ceilings, exotic tropical cypress paneled walls and four fireplaces. Our guests enjoy meeting new friends in the relaxed atmosphere. The three lounges and bar provide ample area to gather before dinner with a cocktail and share information with one another on the adventures of the day, or to settle quietly in a comfortable chair in one of the lounges to read or watch the undisturbed antics of the acorn woodpeckers and hummingbirds.

The swimming pool and hot tub is the perfect place to soak away the stress of urban life or enjoy a frozen margarita at sunset. Power is supplied by a 110 volt generator between about 6 AM and 10 PM and then inverters supply the cottages with 110 volts through the night as well. Lights are kept to a minimum enhancing the view of the night sky.

A fusion of local and international ingredients lends a truly original flavor to our cuisine making it some of the best food prepared in Belize.

Breakfast starts with our own Hidden Valley Inn Coffee, which is grown and roasted on the property and freshly squeezed juices. A choice of home-baked goods and an assortment of fresh fruits and cereals are on the buffet, followed by a full hot breakfast.

Most guests request a hiking lunch , but there is also the option of a delicious lunch from our a la carte menu.
Dining table set

In the evening, the dining room is set with white linen, fresh flowers and candlelight to create an elegant and intimate atmosphere. The menu changes daily and offers a choice of appetizers, entrees and desserts incorporating both local and international dishes. When the weather is fine we also offer outdoor dining on the pool terrace. The service by attentive Belizean staff is unforgettable; they will charm you with their willingness to provide anything you need.

For those needing to stay in touch, a satellite connection provides high speed internet access. For those with laptops, the main house has wireless connectivity and a cable is available if you do not have wireless.
