Black Orchid Spa’s Latest Pampering Princess

I recoil at being told that I am “lucky”.  Generally, I do not believe in “luck” as a concept when it comes to ones life.  On very rare occasions, however, I am forced to admit I feel very lucky indeed.  Having a roommate who does massages, facials, body scrubs and the like for a living, is one such time.  Very lucky indeed.

The remarkably massagy/facial-ly talented Miss Carrie Tripodi, has started working at Black Orchid Spa, located in the Vilma Linda Plaza.  Also located in this charming little plaza is the uber awesome “Mesa Cafe” (highly recommend their black bean burger…it’s divine),  SeaDuced By Belize Tours (the best in the biz), Pages Bookstore and The Paradise Gallery and Frame Shop (blog on their incredible work coming soon).

Carrie was new to the Spa, and in an effort to help her get her “groove” in the new setting, I selflessly volunteered my services as “person needing a massage”.   Carrie’s got a soothing but effective touch that found all the knots and crunchy bits i’d store piled in my body.  I had the One Hour Full Body Massage.  It was an awesome massage, and seriously…i was woozy afterward…  awesome.

K…so apparently, i’m a really good “person in need of..” because when i volunteered to be the “person in need of a facial” so Carrie could learn the different products used at Black Orchid Spa, she said ok.  Lucky me!  I got a facial yesterday.

This was a complete facial with all sorts of steps and potions.  At one point, i was covered in Honey and Sugar or something like that.  Below, I am Blue.  This is not from Carnival, this is from the mask.  The mask is a “color therapy” mask, and this is what we found out about the product:

My skin feels awesome.  Both a massage and a facial are exactly what a girl needs after weeks of salt water abuse.
