Lona and Kyle – An Intimate Wedding on Dec 21, 2012 (that happened to be in the new york times :) )

The Lovely Dr. Lona Cook contacted me in early September to have a small wedding, perhaps on 12/12/12. Fast forward a few months, the wedding list had swelled to a lovely 12 guests, and the date had changed to 12/21/12. Dr Cook and her fiance Kyle Klocke were an incredibly charming couple to work with, from beginning to end, and they were the type of couple that you hope for when in my business.

Ultimately, they were married on the temples steps of my favorite Maya site, Cahal Pech on December 21, 2012.

The real fun came when, out of nowhere The New York Times chose to interview them for their article, “It’s the End of the World and I Feel Fine”.

The couple were sooooooooo chill and laid back, they didnt even have a photographer. They did send me this picture though 🙂 arent they cute?

Instead of stuffing or formal wedding reception, this cool couple just joined in the December 21 feast that was prepared and available at their hotel. This was the perfect way for them to feel “part of something bigger” … as if being featured in the New York Times was big enough! 😀

Anyway, Kyle and Lona, love ya guys! Happy 2013 and beyond…
