Real Bride’s Question – Train too long?

I frequently answer questions on various forums on the internet. I thought, other brides might have the same questions, so i’ll post here.

I think my train is too long, but everyone else disagrees. Originally I had wanted a tea-length dress, but I tried this one on (it was my aunt’s) and it was perfect. The only thing is the length. I never wanted a train and I want to have it removed. My sister and mother keep trying to convince me to keep the train long.
My question is this, should I keep it and if so how hard are bustles? It doesn’t have a bustle currently but I can have one added, right? I wanted to be able to go to the bathroom on my own, but as soon as I chose this dress that dream went out the window….

Here’s my response:

bustles are super easy to add…they are little more than a hook and eye. A good seamstress will also be able to show you how to bustle it super easy.

also, have you considered having it made removable completely? Perhaps it can be redesigned with a bit of creativity.

i suggest you go to your local bridal shop and ask if they recommend someone for alterations. All shops have seamstresses on staff, and back ups in case of emergency. Those ladies are brilliant, and might even have some other ideas that will make you so happy!

So dear reader, what do you think she should do?  Post your thoughts, and i’ll share them with her!
