LONDON CALLING! Belize is answering
In speaking with Tom from www.honeymoons.com, about where our web traffic is coming from, he informed me of a most interesting fact. When looking at the top cities who’ve visited his site, the top three were:
- New York City (east coast in the house!)
- London
- Dublin
I contacted my friend James, who is in England. I met James when he moved here a few years ago. He moved back to England, but he worked in Real Estate and organizing sales tours from England to Belize. Our friend Matt who also used to live here, owns an online booking site.
These three tid bits lead to one conclusion: We need to get people in London to learn of the Jewel of central america: Ambergris Caye, Belize. James is of the opinion that many Brits will travel to Jamaica or Grand Cayman readily, but for some reason they, like americans, still dont really know about unBelizeable Belize. So, in response, I did a side by side neutral comparison. I went onto orbitz.com and the dates that naturally came up were Feb 27 – Mar 14, 2011. I left those dates.
Airfare:
Heathrow – Belize $994 overnight on arriving flight in Houston
Heathrow – Grand Cayman $1097
Heathrow – Montego Bay, Jamaica $922 overnight on arriving flight in Atlanta
Hotel:
Ambergris Caye, Belize – $25 – $1100+
Grand Cayman – $150 – $760
Negril, Jamaica – $35 – $185
This all just goes to reinforce what i’ve said in the past: Just because something is attainable, it is no less precious. Come on back, England, to what was British Honduras. The Queen is on our money, too 🙂
