Luna's New Ride

As some of you might know, i have given up on motorized vehicles.  I simply give up.   Golf Cart maintenance is a bitch.  And that bitch is expensive, so its been about 4 months now, and i really dont much miss having a golf cart…except when it comes to Luna.

Luna the Wonder Puppy (LTWP) is my dog.  Well, i’m her owner/feeder.  She is a very social animal and likes to come with me places, and frankly, i like her company.  Now that my only wheels are peddle powered  however, she can only run but so far. And while Thelma the Blind Deaf Cat fits in my bike basket (see profile pic on Unbelizeable Weddingsand Honeymoons Facebook page), LTWP does not.   If i want to go hang at one of my favorite places, the Palapa Bar, which is one mile north, i cant run her that far.  I live south, and a 55 pound, black dog cant run 5 miles, one way, in this heat.

So alas, LTWP (Luna the Wonder Puppy) was getting very sad and lonely as i was leaving her for more time than she would like.  To solve this, i bought a trailer in the states.  I went to FC’s Aluminum (please note: it is NOT aluminium), and they told me i was better off getting something pre-made versus custom made, even with duty.  They are so nice and honest there, i love them.

Anyway, i went online and i bought the trailer you see above.  It carries a dog up to 55 pounds which means LTWP now has to constantly watch her figure cause she has a tendency to put on weight, and then she wont fit.  ( And who said animals dont take on the traits of their owners?)  I had it shipped to a friends in California who know some folks who charged me $1.25 USD including duty!  Cant beat that with a bat, so i paid my money and waited.  Today, the trailer arrived 🙂

I unpacked the box, and it was basically about as easy as a Pup Tent.  Just sorted set itself up, i inflated the tires, put them on…put Luna in the thing, and away we went.   It is AWESOME!

So, if you see a big pink thing behind a bike, thats me and LTWP.  We even have a little flag, but perhaps i’ll change it out for a Belizean or Pirate flag.  🙂
