Costa Rican Wedding vs Amber Caye Belize Tropical Wedding

Now, in fairness, I’ve never been to Costa Rica.   I say this on the outset, but there are some things I do know about Costa Rica that do qualify me to say:  Belize is Better – and you betta Belize it!

First, and truly most importantly, we are an English Speaking Country.  The official language of Belize is English as we used to be a British Commonwealth (just like canada) known as British Honduras.  In 1981 the deciding vote was cast by the USA to allow Belize to become a sovereign nation.  English speaking might not seem like a big deal on the surface.  Consider this, however, when you are trying to corral 50+ guests here for your wedding, being able to easily, effectively and efficiently communicating with your vendors is more than imperative, it’s essential.    You want to enjoy your beach wedding as well after all!

Second reason to chose a destination wedding in Belize:  We are closer.   I just did a random search on Orbitz.com from Houston to Belize, and Houston to Costa Rica.   The flights cost roughly the same price (about $50 difference).   “On the beach weddings” can be found in both countries, and both are truly stunning, but why take an additional 2 hours to get to Costa Rica?  Belize is less than 2 hours from Houston, Costa Rica is nearly 4 hours!  Then you still have to get to your resort from the international airport.  You’ve enough to do without spending your precious beach time in an airport, car or bus.
